About the Journal
The Baltic Journal of Road and Bridge Engineering publishes original research, reviews and reports that seek to improve engineering practices.
Peer-review. The journal uses double-blind peer review (neither the authors nor the reviewers know the identity of each other) to avoid bias. See more information <Peer Review>. RTU complies with the RTU Press Publication Ethics Guidelines and Committee on Publication Ethics Guidelines for Peer Reviewers which provide guide to the ethics of peer review.
Journal policies. The journal provides its’ policies, which include detailed information about submission, editorial and publishing processes and guidelines for authors and reviewers. All parties are being introduced with their rights and responsibilities to ensure smooth and ethical publishing process. See more information <Journal Policies>
Fees and Charges.
Support for the publication of the journal is provided by the Lithuanian and Estonian Road Administrations, the State Joint Stock Company Latvian State Roads, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Riga Technical University and Tallinn University of Technology as well as the Baltic Road Association.
The BJRBE publish in full open access for everyone under a Creative Commons (CC BY) license. However, to cover editorial and administrative costs, the authors will be charged an article production cost for submissions submitted commencing from December 1, 2024. The fixed article production cost is set at 600 euros per article and will be charged after the successful review stage upon accepting the article for publication.
Publication schedule. The journal publishes four issues a year, in March, June, September and December. For those who are willing to have printed version of the journal there is an option to subscribe the printed edition.
Copyright. Individual articles are published Open Access under the Creative Commons Licence: CC-BY 4.0, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original author and source are credited. Authors retain copyright in their articles, but grant RTU Press the right of the first publication. The journal is copyright RTU © Riga Technical University (RTU), all rights reserved.
Long-term archiving policy. Journal articles published until March 2018 (Vol. 13, No. 1) have been deposited in digital archives Portico, CLOCKSS, LOCKSS. Starting from June 2018 (Vol. 13, No. 2) in accordance with RTU Open Access Policy journal articles will be deposited in RTU institutional online repository ORTUS.
